The North Carolina BBQ Sauce

apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Mix brown sugar and dry spices, then rub into the pork and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 300°F.
- Place the pork in a roasting pan, pour in apple juice and water, cover tightly with foil, and roast for 5 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for an additional 30 minutes until browned and tender.
- Let the pork cool for 15 minutes, then shred it and mix with the drippings.
- To reheat, bake in a 350°F oven for 15 minutes or over a campfire for ½ hour.
- For the BBQ sauce, melt butter in a saucepan, add other ingredients except vinegar, and cook until sugar dissolves.
- Stir in vinegar and serve warm with the pork.
- Serve the pulled pork on buns with coleslaw, pickles, and BBQ sauce.
