Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and sausage, cooking until browned for about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove meat and place on paper towels to drain.
- In the same pot, add onion, red bell pepper, and garlic, cooking until softened for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in tomato paste, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beans, bacon, and jalapeno slices.
- Add the cooked beef and sausage back into the pot.
- Season with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, maple syrup, salt, and pepper.
- Let the chili simmer on low for 30 minutes until thickened.
- Serve warm with desired toppings.
