Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat.
- Add smashed garlic and sauté until golden, being careful not to burn.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and bay leaf.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add fresh basil.
