Ingredients

The chicken

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins

The dry rub

  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar or sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper

The optional sauce

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the smoker to 225 degrees.
  2. Sprinkle the spices over the chicken and rub them into the meat.
  3. Place the chicken tenders on the smoker.
  4. Smoke the chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees, which will take about 1 to 2 hours.
  5. Remove the chicken from the smoker and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
  6. Mix the honey and BBQ sauce together and drizzle it over the tenders.
