Pan Seared Salmon

Ingredients

The salmon

  • 3-4 steaks Salmon (4-6 ounce each)

The seasoning

  • 1-2 Tablespoons Cooking oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Thyme
  • ½ teaspoon Bouillon powder (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, thyme, and bouillon powder in a small bowl.
  2. Brush the salmon lightly with cooking oil and season with salt and pepper, then apply the spice rub.
  3. Preheat a large heavy skillet or grill pan over medium heat for about 2 minutes, then add enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
  4. Add the salmon to the pan skin side up and sear for about 3 minutes, then flip and sear the other side for 4-5 minutes until the desired doneness is reached.
  5. Remove from the pan and serve with salad or a side of choice.
