Ingredients

The steak

  • 16 ounces steak
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

For serving

  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 8 pieces pitas or gluten-free tortillas
  • 1 medium tomato, seeded and chopped
  • ½ cup feta cheese
  • to taste tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat a grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, oregano, rosemary, salt, and pepper, then sprinkle over the steaks.
  3. Cook the steaks on the grill pan to the desired doneness, about 5 to 7 minutes per side, then let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  4. While the steak rests, combine the onion, dill, and vinegar in another bowl.
  5. Heat a skillet to medium and warm the pita until browned and slightly puffy.
  6. Top the pitas with sliced steak, onion mixture, tomato, and feta cheese.
  7. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and serve warm.
