Ingredients

The crust

  • ¾ cup salted butter, softened
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

The pecan filling

  • ¾ cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups light or dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 ½ cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9x13-inch pan with foil and cooking spray.
  2. For the crust, beat the butter and brown sugar until creamy, then mix in the flour and salt until crumbly.
  3. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of the pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. For the filling, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, cream, salt, and eggs until well combined, then stir in the pecans.
  5. Pour the filling over the crust, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are set and the filling is bubbling.
  7. Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
