Ingredients

The crust

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour

The filling

  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup corn syrup
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cream the butter and 1 cup of brown sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the flour and mix until coarse crumbs form, adding more flour if necessary.
  4. Press the crust mixture into a 9×13 baking dish and bake for 12-15 minutes until dry and slightly puffed.
  5. For the filling, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla.
  6. Stir in the pecans and pour the filling over the crust, ensuring it's a light layer.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the filling appears mostly set.
  8. Sprinkle with coarse sea salt, cool completely, and refrigerate overnight.
  9. Cut into 24 pieces and serve slightly chilled.
