Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch pan.
- Brown the butter in a skillet, then let it cool for 5 minutes.
- Mix the brown butter with sugar, vanilla, and salt, then stir in the flour and press into the baking pan.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the topping by combining butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, and cream in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Temper the eggs by slowly adding a portion of the hot mixture to them, then combine back into the saucepan.
- Stir in the pecans and pour the mixture over the pre-baked crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until set, then cool completely before cutting into squares.
