Slow Cooker 5 Spice Chicken

The chicken

Instructions
- Combine garlic, ginger, vegetable oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, and 5 spice powder to make the spice rub.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken pieces, ensuring it's under the skin as well.
- Dice the onion and place it in the bottom of the slow cooker, then pour rice wine over it.
- Layer the chicken pieces on top of the onion in the slow cooker, packing them closely.
- Cover and cook on high for four hours.
- After cooking, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and place it on a baking sheet.
- Adjust the oven rack to 5 inches from the broiler and broil the chicken for 5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
