Ingredients

The pasta

  • 10 ounces linguine pasta
  • cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

The protein

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces smoked sausage, cut into slices

The vegetables

  • ½ cup yellow onion, minced
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (red and yellow)

The seasoning

  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning

Instructions

  1. 1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta according to package directions.
  2. 2. In a large pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  3. 3. Add the minced onion and sliced bell peppers, cooking until softened.
  4. 4. Stir in 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning.
  5. 5. Add the sausage and cook for a few minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. 6. Season the shrimp with the remaining Cajun seasoning and add to the pan, cooking until pink and opaque.
  7. 7. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot, adding cream, butter, salt, and pepper, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  8. 8. Stir in parmesan cheese and mix well.
  9. 9. Serve the shrimp and sausage mixture on top of the pasta, garnished with parsley.
