The eggs

  • 6 pieces eggs

The water

  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a medium-sized pot without overcrowding.
  2. Fill the pot with cold water so it covers the eggs by 1 inch.
  3. Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
  4. Once boiling, cover the pot and remove it from heat.
  5. Start your timer based on how you like your eggs cooked: 4-6 minutes for soft, 7-8 minutes for medium, and 10-12 minutes for hard-boiled.
  6. After the timer goes off, use a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs to an ice water bath.
  7. Let the eggs cool in the ice bath to stop the cooking process.
