Ingredients

The batter

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs

For serving

  • to taste Maple syrup or jam

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly oil the grids.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, sour cream, and eggs until well combined.
  4. 4. Pour the wet ingredients into the well of the dry ingredients and whisk until just smooth, being careful not to over mix.
  5. 5. Spoon about ¼ cup of batter into each quadrant of the waffle iron and close the lid.
  6. 6. Cook the waffles until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. 7. Serve the waffles hot with maple syrup or jam on the side.
