Crispy Quinoa-Crusted Tofu

Ingredients

The tofu

  • 1 15-ounce package extra-firm tofu
  • ½ cup quinoa flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk or soy milk
  • Approx. ¼ cup vegetable oil

The dipping sauce

  • ½ cup honey
  • 1-2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cut the tofu into triangles.
  3. Mix quinoa flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Pour almond or soy milk into another bowl.
  5. Dip each tofu triangle in milk, then dredge in the flour mixture.
  6. Fry the tofu in the skillet until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Transfer cooked tofu to a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. For the dipping sauce, whisk together honey, sriracha, minced garlic, and rice vinegar.
