Crispy Pan Fried Tofu

Ingredients

The tofu

  • 1 block Extra Firm Tofu

The coating

  • 3 tbsp Corn Starch
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce

The oil

  • 3 tbsp Light Olive Oil or any oil you like to fry with

Instructions

  1. Drain the tofu by placing it in a tofu press for 30 minutes or wrapping it in paper towels and weighing it down.
  2. Break the tofu into 1.5 inch pieces by hand.
  3. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and coat the bottom with oil.
  4. In a zip bag, combine the tofu pieces with corn starch and soy sauce, shaking to coat.
  5. Add the tofu to the hot pan and let it cook undisturbed for 3-5 minutes until golden crispy edges form.
  6. Flip the tofu and cook until all pieces are crispy, then toss with your favorite sauce.
