Ham and Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

The biscuits

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ Tbsp sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pint heavy cream

The filling

  • 6 slices cheese
  • 12 slices deli ham

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
  2. Combine flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder in a large bowl.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and stir until a thick dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a rectangle.
  5. Roll the dough to about 8x11 inches and ½ inch thick, then cut into 12 squares.
  6. Stack one slice of cheese and two slices of ham on six squares, then top with the remaining squares.
  7. Place the biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
