Ingredients

The base

  • 1 ¼ cups almonds
  • 6 cups filtered water

Flavorings

  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Soak the almonds in a bowl with enough water to cover them by 1 inch for 12 to 24 hours.
  2. Drain the almonds and transfer them to a blender.
  3. Add 4 cups of water to the blender and blend on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes until finely ground.
  4. Strain the mixture through a nut bag or clean kitchen towel over a bowl, squeezing to extract all the liquid.
  5. Discard the solids or save them for another use, then stir in the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  6. Store the almond milk in the fridge in an airtight container.
