Ingredients

The base

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 3.5-4 cups filtered cold water

Flavorings

  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 2-3 pieces soaked pitted dates
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Soak the almonds overnight, then drain and rinse them.
  2. In a high-speed blender, combine the soaked almonds, filtered water, sweetener, sea salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Blend on high for about 2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  4. Line a large jar or container with a nut milk bag and pour the almond milk into it.
  5. Strain the milk through the nut bag, squeezing to remove as much liquid as possible.
  6. Transfer the almond milk to an airtight glass bottle or jar and store in the fridge.
