Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×9 or 9×13 baking dish.
- Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into ½ inch rounds and add them to the baking dish.
- In a saucepan, heat the butter over medium-high heat until melted.
- Add the sugars, orange juice, and spices to the melted butter and stir until boiling.
- Reduce heat to medium and let the syrup cook for an additional 5 minutes until thickened.
- Pour the syrup over the sweet potatoes, coating them well.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil, baste the sweet potatoes with syrup, and bake uncovered for another 50-55 minutes, basting every 15 minutes.
- Add the mini marshmallows on top with 10 minutes left to bake.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
