Ingredients

The chicken

  • 1 whole chicken

The seasoning

  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 250° Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix all seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
  3. Prepare the chicken by removing packaging and giblets, then place it on a large plate.
  4. Rub the seasoning mix all over the chicken.
  5. Smoke the chicken at 250° F for one hour.
  6. Increase the grill/smoker temperature to high (400°-450° F) and cook for an additional 45-65 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160° F.
  7. Remove the chicken from the smoker and let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
