Easy Juicy Smoked Chicken Breast

Ingredients

The chicken

  • 2 lbs chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

The rub

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp coconut sugar

For basting

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the smoker to 225°F.
  2. Combine all rub ingredients in a small bowl.
  3. Brush the chicken breasts with avocado oil on both sides.
  4. Season the chicken liberally with the rub on both sides.
  5. Place the chicken in the smoker and cook for 2-3 hours until it reaches an internal temperature of 150°F for 5 minutes.
  6. If desired, brush BBQ sauce on the chicken when it reaches 140°F.
  7. Remove the chicken from the smoker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
