Ingredients

The sandwich

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Slices Bread of Choice
  • 6 Small Pieces Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 unit Pasture-Raised Organic Egg

Optional toppings

  • ½ Cup Arugula
  • ½ unit Avocado
  • 1 Teaspoon Honey
  • ¼ Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • ¼ Teaspoon Flaky Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat and add the butter.
  2. Place one slice of bread in the pan and layer cheese on top, leaving room in the center.
  3. Cover with the second slice of bread.
  4. Cook for about 4 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3 minutes until crispy.
  5. Remove from heat and cut a circular hole in the center of the sandwich.
  6. Return the sandwich to the pan over low heat and crack an egg into the hole.
  7. Cover the pan and cook until the egg whites are set.
  8. Add any desired toppings and enjoy.
