Ingredients

The toffee

  • 2 cups unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

The toppings

  • 2 cups mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup almonds, chopped

Instructions

  1. Combine butter, sugar, and salt in a pot and cook over medium heat, stirring often until the mixture turns amber and reaches 300°F (150°C).
  2. Pour the mixture into a parchment-lined baking pan.
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate evenly over the top and let it sit until slightly melted, then smooth it with a spatula.
  4. Top with chopped almonds, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Refrigerate until set, then break into pieces and serve.
