Ingredients

The chickpeas

  • 2 cans chickpeas, drained

The oil and seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or coconut oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Optional flavours

  • to taste ground cinnamon and maple syrup
  • to taste garlic powder and harissa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
  2. Rinse, drain, and thoroughly dry the chickpeas using a kitchen towel.
  3. Place the chickpeas on the baking sheet, drizzle with oil, and sprinkle with salt. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Bake the chickpeas for 30 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through.
  5. Test for crispiness, and if desired, add flavourings by tossing them with the chickpeas.
  6. For extra crispiness, return the chickpeas to the oven, turn it off, and leave the door slightly open for 30 minutes.
