Chocolate Cream Cheese Pie

frozen whipped topping (thawed, plus more for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Combine the crushed Oreos and melted butter in a bowl.
- Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie plate and bake for 10 minutes; allow to cool completely.
- In a stand mixer, blend the cream cheese, ¼ cup sugar, and vanilla for 2 minutes.
- Add the egg yolks to the cream cheese mixture and beat until smooth.
- Mix in the melted chocolate.
- In another bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then gradually add the remaining sugar and beat to stiff peaks.
- Gently fold the egg whites and whipped topping into the chocolate cream cheese mixture.
- Pour the filling into the cooled crust and smooth into an even layer.
- Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours.
- Top with additional whipped topping if desired.
