Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 pieces flax eggs or egg replacers
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons melted coconut oil
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and prepare the brownie pan.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or over a pot of boiling water.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flax eggs or egg replacers with brown sugar and coconut oil for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add the water and vanilla extract to the wet mixture, then combine with the dry ingredients and melted chocolate.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Warm the peanut butter and dollop it on top of the batter, then swirl it through gently.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, allowing the center to remain slightly wobbly.
  9. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
