Beet Cheddar Apple Pizza

Ingredients

The pizza dough

  • 1 whole Whole Wheat Pizza Dough
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

The toppings

  • cups shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 2 small sweet apples (such as Gala, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 2 small beets
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Whole Wheat Pizza Dough according to recipe directions.
  2. Preheat the oven to 450°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll the dough into an 11x14-inch rectangle and transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Brush the surface of the dough liberally with olive oil.
  5. Sprinkle half of the cheese on the dough, then layer with apple slices.
  6. Tuck beet slices between the apples and top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle rosemary over the top.
  8. Bake the pizza until the crust is crisp and golden, about 12 minutes.
  9. Let cool for 3 minutes, then slice and serve.
