Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Bites

Ingredients

  • 4 slices pumpernickel bread
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 3 ounces smoked salmon
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2 tsp chives
  • for garnish additional chives

Instructions

  1. Cut the crusts off the pumpernickel bread and cut it into 1" squares.
  2. In a bowl, combine the finely chopped salmon and cream cheese, mashing them together until fully combined.
  3. Add garlic powder and 2 tsp of chopped chives, mashing again. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Spoon the mixture into a plastic bag, snipping off a corner to pipe it out.
  5. Pipe the salmon and cream cheese mixture onto the pumpernickel squares.
  6. Garnish with finely chopped chives.
