Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut it into 9 equal squares.
- Score a thin border around each square and poke holes in the middle to prevent puffing.
- Brush the tops of the pastry squares with whisked egg whites.
- Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until golden, monitoring to ensure they don't puff up excessively.
- Let the pastries cool for 5 minutes after baking.
- Spread cream cheese on top of each pastry, add pieces of smoked salmon, and sprinkle with desired toppings.
- Serve immediately.
