Ingredients

The bread

  • 1 loaf sourdough baguette

The topping

  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ red onion
  • ¼ cup basil
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush two tablespoons of olive oil onto the bread slices.
  4. Bake in the oven for 6-9 minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven and prepare the topping.
  6. Dice the tomatoes, onion, and basil.
  7. Soak up excess water from the tomatoes with a paper towel.
  8. Combine the diced ingredients in a bowl and add the remaining olive oil.
  9. Toss gently to coat the mixture.
  10. Spoon the topping onto each piece of bread.
  11. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the topping and sprinkle with sea salt.
  12. Serve immediately.
