Ingredients

The chocolate coating

  • 6 ounces bittersweet or semi-sweet high quality chocolate

The almonds

  • cups whole almonds (raw and unsalted)

The toppings

  • to taste coarse sea salt or flaky sea salt
  • to taste turbinado sugar (or any coarse/raw sugar)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave in 30-second increments until smooth.
  3. Stir the almonds into the melted chocolate to coat them.
  4. Lift the almonds out individually or in small batches to release excess chocolate.
  5. Place the coated almonds on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle with sea salt and turbinado sugar, then let the chocolate set.
