Ingredients

The chocolate base

  • 1 cup cacao butter
  • ⅓ - ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • tsp sea salt

The toppings

  • ½ cup roasted almonds

Instructions

  1. Melt the cacao butter in a double boiler or microwave until completely liquid.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in the maple syrup until combined.
  3. Add the cacao powder and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  4. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  5. Pour the chocolate into molds or a lined baking sheet.
  6. Top with roasted almonds and a sprinkle of sea salt.
  7. Refrigerate or freeze until solid, about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  8. Once hardened, break or cut into bars and store in an airtight container.
