General Tso Tofu

brown sugar or coconut sugar

hoisin sauce

Instructions
- Coat the cubed tofu with soy sauce and toss to coat.
- Add garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, and cornstarch to the tofu and toss again.
- Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add the tofu, cooking until crispy on all sides, about 8 minutes.
- In another pan, heat sesame oil and sauté ginger and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the remaining sauce ingredients to the pan, whisking to dissolve the cornstarch slurry.
- Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for about 4 minutes until thickened.
- Add the crispy tofu to the sauce and stir to coat, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and scallions before serving.
