Ingredients

The tofu

  • 16 ounces extra-firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • ¼ cup cornstarch

The stir-fry sauce

  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 pieces scallions
  • 2 strips orange zest
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger

For serving

  • Steamed rice
  • Broccoli
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Press and cube the tofu, then marinate it with tamari and cornstarch.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, tamari, sriracha, orange juice, and cornstarch to create the sauce.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet and sear the tofu until crispy on all sides.
  4. Add scallions, orange zest, garlic, and ginger to the skillet and cook until scallions soften.
  5. Pour in the sauce and let it simmer until thickened.
  6. Serve the tofu mixture over rice, garnished with sesame seeds and accompanied by broccoli.
