Ingredients

The chicken

  • 2 pounds chicken breasts or chicken thighs, fresh or frozen, bone-in or boneless, skin off or on

Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Water

  • 1 cup water (for 6-quart Instant Pot)

Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot and insert the trivet.
  2. Add the chicken to the pot, ensuring frozen pieces are broken apart.
  3. Season the chicken as desired.
  4. Set the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for the appropriate time based on the type of chicken.
  5. After cooking, release the pressure according to the specified method.
  6. Check the internal temperature of the chicken to ensure it reaches 165°F.
  7. Once cooled, shred or dice the chicken as desired.
