Instructions
- Prepare the teriyaki sauce by combining pineapple juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan and bringing it to a boil.
- Once boiling, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, add it to the sauce, and cook until thickened.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, panko, garlic, ginger, black pepper, cilantro, and some teriyaki sauce, then shape into patties and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill and oil the grates, then grill pineapple rings and onion slices until caramelized.
- Grill the burgers, brushing with teriyaki sauce, until they reach an internal temperature of 160-165°F.
- Let the burgers rest for 5 minutes, then serve on buns with reserved sauce, grilled pineapple, and onion.
