Ingredients

The Apple Filling

  • 2 cups cubed honey crisp apples, peeled (½-inch cubes)
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon coarse salt

The Crumble

  • cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line a muffin tin with paper muffin cups, spraying them with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, toss together the apple cubes, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the crumble topping.
  4. Cut the softened butter into the dry ingredients until it forms crumbles.
  5. Press 2 tablespoons of the crumble mixture into each muffin cup to create the crust and bake for 10 minutes.
  6. After baking, let the crust cool for 10 minutes.
  7. Scoop 1½-2 tablespoons of the apple filling into each crust and top with 1-2 tablespoons of crumble.
  8. Bake again for 20-25 minutes until the tops are golden brown and apples are fork-tender.
  9. Let the mini apple crisps rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
