Ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 2 large apples
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Crumble Topping

  • ¾ cup oats (rolled)
  • ½ cup whole-wheat flour
  • ½ cup walnuts (chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Optional Topping

  • 1 serving ice cream (vanilla)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Slice the apples into thin pieces and toss them with cinnamon, melted butter, and honey.
  3. Evenly divide the apple mixture into 8 half-pint jars or one pie plate.
  4. In the same bowl, combine the crumble topping ingredients and mix well.
  5. Spread the crumble topping over the apples in the jars.
  6. Cover the jars with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, increase the oven to broil, and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
