Healthy Baked Chicken Breast

Ingredients

The chicken

  • 4 8-oz Boneless skinless chicken breasts

The brine

  • 4 cups Water
  • ¼ cup Sea salt

The seasoning

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Sea salt
  • ½ tsp Paprika
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brine the chicken breasts in a mixture of water and sea salt for 10 minutes at room temperature or up to 24 hours in the refrigerator.
  2. Drain the brine, rinse the chicken, and pat dry.
  3. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  4. Place the chicken in a baking dish and brush both sides with olive oil.
  5. Season both sides of the chicken with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, sea salt, paprika, and black pepper.
  6. Bake the chicken for 18-22 minutes until firm and no longer pink, with an internal temperature of 160-165°F (71-74°C).
  7. Cover with foil and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
