Ingredients

The steak

  • 2 steaks Filet Mignon Steaks (6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil, divided
  • to taste Salt & pepper

The vegetables

  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • ½ red bell pepper cut into strips
  • ½ green bell pepper cut into strips
  • ¼ cup Onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz Sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Dry white wine
  • ¼ teaspoon Fresh thyme leaves

Garlic Parmesan Butter

  • 2 oz Unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 oz Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • ¼ teaspoon Raw garlic, grated

The sauce

  • ½ cup Rao's Arrabiatta Sauce (or any other low carb sauce)

Instructions

  1. Let the steaks come to room temperature for 30 minutes and prepare the vegetables.
  2. Make the Garlic Parmesan Butter by mixing softened butter, grated Parmesan, and grated garlic, then refrigerate.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare an oven-safe frying pan.
  4. Season the steaks with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then sear in the hot pan for 1½ to 2 minutes on each side.
  5. Insert a meat thermometer into one steak and transfer the pan to the oven to finish cooking.
  6. In the same pan, sauté the onions and peppers in olive oil for 2-3 minutes, then add the wine and mushrooms, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Stir in fresh thyme at the end of cooking the vegetables, then remove from heat.
  8. Add the red sauce to the pan to warm it up.
  9. Plate the dish by dividing the sauce, placing the steaks on top, adding a tablespoon of Parmesan butter, and serving the vegetables on the side.
