Chili Cheese Fries

kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
For the fries

frozen french fries

cups
shredded cheddar cheese

assorted
toppings (such as sour cream and green onions)

Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat and cook the ground beef with salt and pepper until browned.
- Add onion and cook until softened, then stir in garlic and cook briefly.
- Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and spices to the pot and bring to a simmer.
- Cook the chili for 30-40 minutes until thickened, then stir in kidney beans and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Coat a sheet pan with cooking spray and bake the frozen french fries according to package directions.
- Once fries are cooked, spoon chili over them and top with cheddar cheese.
- Return fries to the oven and bake until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
- Add any desired toppings and serve immediately.
