Instructions
- Cut the ends off the vanilla beans and divide them evenly among 4-5 1-quart glass mason jars.
- Cover the beans with vodka or rum and close tightly, then shake vigorously.
- Place the jars in a cool, dark place and shake them about once a week for at least 1-2 months.
- When ready to gift, carefully fill each glass bottle with the vanilla extract and secure the lids tightly.
- Optionally, include a trimmed vanilla bean in each bottle.
