Ingredients

  • 1-1½ cups vodka or rum

Instructions

  1. Slice open each vanilla bean and scrape out the specks.
  2. Place the vanilla beans and specks in a jar or bottle.
  3. Add the liquor to the jar, ensuring the beans are completely submerged.
  4. Tightly close the jar and store it in a dark, cool place.
  5. Label the bottle with the date and shake vigorously.
  6. Shake the bottle at least once a week while it ages.
  7. You can start using the extract after 8 weeks, but for best flavor, wait 6-12 months.
