Ingredients

The extract

  • 5 to 6 beans vanilla beans
  • 8 ounces vodka

Equipment

  • 1 bottle bottle
  • 1 unit funnel

Instructions

  1. Warm the vodka in a small saucepan until it's warm to the touch.
  2. Split open the vanilla bean pods to expose the beans.
  3. Add the vanilla beans to the bottle.
  4. Pour the warm vodka over the beans and seal the bottle.
  5. Label the bottle with the name and date.
  6. Store the bottle in a dark place and shake it every few days for the first week.
  7. After the first week, shake it every week or so.
  8. Wait 6 to 8 months for the extract to be ready.
