Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy, then mix in the egg, molasses, and milk.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Dust a cutting board with flour, roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick.
- Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared cookie sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 8-9 minutes until set but soft, then let cool.
- Dust with powdered sugar or decorate with icing before serving.
