egg yolk (beaten with 1-2 tablespoon milk or water)

Instructions
- Combine warm water and yeast in a bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter, flour, sugar, and salt to the yeast mixture and mix until well combined.
- Knead the dough until smooth, then place it in an oiled bowl and cover it to rise for 1 to 2 hours.
- Punch down the dough and roll it into ropes, shaping each into a pretzel.
- Boil water and baking soda in a large pot and dip each pretzel in the boiling water for 30 seconds.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet.
- Brush each pretzel with the egg yolk mixture and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake pretzels for 12-15 minutes until golden brown, then brush with melted butter before serving.
