Ingredients

The bread

  • 1 loaf French bread, crusty country-style

The topping

  • sticks salted butter, melted
  • 5 cloves garlic, pureed or very finely chopped
  • 5 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, bottled
  • 1 teaspoon parsley leaves, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the French bread horizontally into halves and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and parsley, stirring until well mixed.
  4. Generously brush the mixture onto the sliced French bread.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the garlic Parmesan mixture is slightly crusty.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing into pieces.
  7. Serve warm.
