Ingredients

The bread

  • 1 loaf French bread

The garlic butter mixture

  • ½ cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 Tbsp minced fresh garlic
  • 1 Tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 Tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
  • 1 Tbsp finely chopped fresh oregano
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and cut the French bread loaf in half horizontally.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the butter, garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, and pepper.
  3. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes.
  5. Move the oven rack closer to the broiler and broil the bread for 45 seconds to 3 minutes until golden brown, watching closely.
  6. Cut the bread into slices and serve warm.
