Instructions
- Cook the sliced bacon in a Dutch oven until it begins to crisp.
- Drain the bacon and reserve 2 tablespoons of the drippings.
- Cook the diced onion and green bell pepper in the reserved drippings until softened.
- Add the pork & beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and crumbled bacon to the pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cover.
- Cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
