Ingredients

The base

  • 30 ounces frozen hash browns, thawed

The seasonings

  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

The cooking fats

  • 3 tablespoons avocado oil, divided
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Combine salt, smoked paprika, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat.
  3. Wring out excess moisture from the hash browns using a clean dish towel.
  4. Add 1 ½ tablespoons of avocado oil and butter to the griddle.
  5. Once the butter foams, shape the hash browns into patties using a ½ cup measure.
  6. Press the patties with a spatula and sprinkle with the seasoning mixture.
  7. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, avoiding excessive browning.
  8. Add the remaining oil, flip the patties, and sprinkle with any remaining seasonings.
  9. Cook for another 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown.
